PROJECT:

1. Erdödy Consultancy was commissioned by the University of Otago and New Zealand Trade & Enterprise (NZTE) to research how Multicore Computing Systems could be the foundation of a new software industry in NZ. Erdödy Consultancy did a complete review of the capabilities of the IT sector in NZ and compared it with other nations. The project included a research trip to Tokyo where Erdödy Consultancy visited and interviewed senior management of NEC, Mitsubishi Electric and Sun Microsystems Japan. The report named “Multicore NZ” concluded that NZ has an ecosystem with the potential to become a global hub on parallel programming and software for multicore and manycore systems.

2. Erdödy Consultancy was engaged to review challenges and trends in IT that New Zealand businesses will be facing in the period 2010 – 2015 and to provide recommendations on how the University can contribute towards solving those challenges.
